How to Move a Blog from HTTP to HTTPS (Secure)
Back in 2014, Google announced the SEO benefits of moving sites from HTTP to HTTPS (the secured version of a website). So yeah, we’ve known this was coming for quite a while even if we all kept putting it off.
These are the top resources bloggers are using to DIY the move. Note: please, please, please work very closely with your host before doing this. Understand the HOW and also the repercussions of moving by reading What You Need to Know Before Changing from HTTP to HTTPS.

How to Recover Social Share Counts
Mentioned above, there are repercussions from moving a blog from HTTP to HTTPS (secured). One of the BIGGEST pains of going secure is that most social sharing plugins will reset the counts on all the networks.
That will KILL social proof, something you’ve worked very, very hard to get with your content.
The easiest way to get back your social share counts it to use the Social Warfare plugin. I use it and recommend it to clients.
The Social Warfare plugin takes minutes to recover social share counts!
The One Drawback to Social Warfare
Although you get to quickly and easily recover your share counts, there is a feature of Social Warfare which isn’t automated. I use this plugin on multiple sites and I thought this was darn-well worth it.
The biggest drawback to Social Warfare is that you should identify an image and write-up for each post. Because you already have the images within your media library, this process shouldn’t take you more than 2 minutes per post (one horizontal and one pin image).
Most of my clients hire a virtual assistant to do this. Get current rates by asking fellow bloggers or putting an “in search of” request in this VA group on Facebook or the Elite VA group. I am a member of both if you’d like an invite or help with finding a rate.
Summary
Learning how to quickly and painlessly recover social share counts after moving to HTTPS is so easy with Social Warfare. Get it today and get back all of your hard work!
